Guy Lang, Justice-Impacted Communities Coordinator

Guy Lang is a dedicated advocate for justice-involved individuals, returning citizens, and the families and communities impacted by the criminal justice system. With a deep passion for dismantling systemic barriers and empowering those affected by incarceration, he has committed his career to fostering meaningful change and support for marginalized populations.
As the Director of Youth Partnerships & Community Outreach for the Defender Association of Philadelphia, Guy leads initiatives that educate and uplift young people navigating the justice system. He also serves as the Program Director for the Junior Defender Program, equipping youth with the knowledge and tools to advocate for themselves and their communities.
Beyond his work with the Defender Association, Guy is the Co-Founder and Director of Operations for Level Up Philly II: Uptown, a nonprofit dedicated to providing critical resources, mentorship, and advocacy for youth and families in Philadelphia. His commitment to systemic change extends to policy work as a Law & Policy Committee Member for the Philadelphia Reparations Task Force, where he helps shape strategies for reparative justice in the city.
A recognized leader in the public defense and racial justice communities, Guy is a Black Public Defender Association (BPDA) Member, a BPDA Black Defender Leadership Institute 2.0 Fellow, and a National Association for Public Defense (NAPD) Racial Justice Committee Member. He also contributes to national reform efforts as a MacArthur Microgrant Subcommittee Member and is a sought-after national public speaker, using his voice to advocate for transformative justice policies.
