The Missouri State Public Defender System is accepting applications for a District Defender in the Jefferson City Office. This eleven-attorney office handles cases in Cole, Miller, and Moniteau counties. In addition to caseload responsibilities, as the managing attorney for the office, the District Defender is responsible for case assignments, monitoring of employee performance, hiring and development and implementation of office policies.
Qualifications: Must be a member of the Missouri Bar and have criminal law experience. Management experience preferred.
Salary/Benefits: Eligible for full state benefits including health, life, and long-term disability insurance, retirement plan, paid holidays, vacation, sick leave, CLE training, and payment of bar dues. Salary is $8,740/month.
