We share how an absence of empathy for defendants and lack of appreciation for their humanity caused this inflammatory gagging to occur, what the Judge should've done instead of resorting to duct tape and what we as #publicdefenders need to do to ensure that the criminally accused and convicted like Mr. Williams feel seen and heard.
