Herbert Duzant is a native New Yorker and veteran criminal defense investigator with over twenty-five years of experience. Mr. Duzant is currently the senior investigator at the District of Nevada’s Federal Public Defender Office (FPD). Before joining the Nevada FPD in 2004, he spent the previous decade handling state trial cases at the New York State Capital Defender Office and the Neighborhood Defender Service of Harlem. He is licensed in several states and previously conducted private investigative work on a variety of retained criminal and civil litigation matters, as well as missing persons cases. Since the early 2000s, Mr. Duzant has presented on a diverse array of criminal defense training topics. He has also served on several national training committees, professional association boards, and chaired both national and regional conferences. He is a strong proponent of client-centered-practices and advocates for increased training opportunities for non-attorney criminal defense team members.
