Geoff Burkhart is an attorney and project director at the American Bar Association, where he works to improve indigent criminal defense systems. He is also an adjunct faculty member at Loyola University Chicago. He previously served as a law clerk to Justice James Epstein of the Illinois Appellate Court, First District. He also worked for four years as an Assistant Appellate Defender. In law school, Geoff served as Editor in Chief of the DePaul Law Review and as an extern to Justice Anne Burke of the Illinois Supreme Court. Geoff has published several articles in the CBA Record, where he is a member of the editorial board, and the Illinois Bar Journal, where he twice received the Lincoln Legal Writing Award.
