Today on the Public Defenseless Podcast, Sylvia Lett and Andrew Sowards are the former federal public defender and Investigator who worked on the Barry Jones case and join us for this special two-hour episode to give all the details.

There is no greater injustice than the wrongful conviction, incarceration, and execution of an innocent person. Yet, the Supreme Court has repeatedly held that actual proof of innocence is not enough to stop an execution. Now, the ruling of Shinn vs Ramirez and this idea of finality threaten the life of Barry Jones.

In 1994, Barry Jones was arrested for the rape and murder of his girlfriend's four-year-old daughter. Even though his innocence is obvious to all who would look, he sits on Arizona's death row, waiting to be executed for a crime he did not commit. From junk science to bad witnesses, nothing about this trial was fair. To make it worse, the Supreme Court has reaffirmed that actual proof of innocence is not enough to overturn an execution.

If you have never shared one of the episodes, please let this be your first. Help us amplify the injustice that Barry is facing.

Even if it is just one person, that is enough.
