Investigator Supervisor, Minnesota Board of Public Defense (Minneapolis, MN)

Lauri Zobrack is a Board Certified Criminal Defense Investigator who has been a criminal defense / public defender investigator throughout her entire career. A 1987 graduate of Ripon College, she stumbled upon her career as an investigator while taking some time off between college and law school. Lauri and her husband Brian went on to own Able Investigations in Racine, Wisconsin for 10 years before becoming full time public defender investigators with the Wisconsin State Public Defender’s Office in the mid-1990’s. While in the private sector, Lauri’s investigative experience consisted of mostly public defense contract work. Lauri was hired as an investigator in the Hennepin County Public Defender’s Office (4th District) in Minneapolis in 1999. In 2001 she was promoted to Investigator Supervisor and presently supervises a team of 12 investigators, a paralegal and interns. Lauri has been active on statewide training committees and has been a long time faculty member at the Minnesota Public Defender Trial Advocacy Institute. In 2010 she was the recipient of the Hennepin County Customer Service Award and in 2013 she was awarded the State of Minnesota Board of Public Defense Employee of the Year award.
