Edward J. Ungvarsky is Principal with Ungvarsky Law, PLLC in Alexandria, Virginia with white collar and criminal defense representation in Washington, DC, Virginia, and federal courts. Ed frequently lectures on issues related to the ethics and professional responsibility, the death penalty, trial advocacy, and forensic science evidence and expert testimony; and he is a supervising attorney in the DC Law Students in Court clinical trial program. Ed serves on the faculties of Harvard Law School’s Trial Advocacy Workshop, National College of Capital Voir Dire, NACDL’s Making the Case for Life, and NLADA’s Life in the Balance. Among Ed’s 16 publications, he has written for the NAPD Blog. Ed is an aggressive, experienced criminal defense who is frequently called upon by other lawyers for guidance and consultation. After graduating from law school, Ed clerked in Montgomery, Alabama for the Honorable Frank M. Johnson, Jr., on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Ed received his B.A. from Wesleyan University and his J.D. from Yale Law School. Ed received the 2014 NLADA Kutak-Dodds Award for his extraordinary work for justice over his career and the 2017-18 Bill Geimer Award from the Virginia Capital Case Clearinghouse for his excellent advocacy.
