    Requirements
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS  
    • Graduation from an accredited college of law AND member of the Oregon State Bar.
    • Five (5) years full-time experience in the practice of law AT LEAST three (3) of which must be in the practice of criminal or juvenile defense, or a related field.
    DESIRED ATTRIBUTES FOR THE RESOURCE COUNSEL ROLE   The most competitive candidates will possess the following attributes, experience, and knowledge.
    • At least five (5) years of criminal law practice, preferred.
    • Passion for improving the quality of public defense practice through systemic reform and the development of standards and resources to support public defense providers.
    • Experience handling murder, civil commitment, and/or postconviction relief cases.
    • Experience in public defense practice in rural and frontier jurisdictions.
    • Experience working and communicating with a diverse array of public defense stakeholders, including attorney and non-attorney providers, judges, and court staff.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills; and
    • Experience utilizing a data-informed approach in the development and refinement of written organizational policies and procedures.
