    Requirements
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Graduation from an accredited college of law AND member of the Oregon State Bar. Five (5) years full-time experience in the practice of law AT LEAST three (3) of which must be in the practice of criminal or juvenile defense, or a related field. DESIRED ATTRIBUTES FOR THE RESOURCE COUNSEL ROLE The most competitive candidates will possess the following attributes, experience, and knowledge. At least five (5) years of criminal law practice, preferred. Passion for improving the quality of public defense practice through systemic reform and the development of standards and resources to support public defense providers. Experience handling murder, civil commitment, and/or postconviction relief cases. Experience in public defense practice in rural and frontier jurisdictions. Experience working and communicating with a diverse array of public defense stakeholders, including attorney and non-attorney providers, judges, and court staff. Strong oral and written communication skills; and Experience utilizing a data-informed approach in the development and refinement of written organizational policies and procedures.
