• The City of Phoenix is conducting a national search to find highly qualified candidates for the position of Director of the Office of Accountability and Transparency (OAT). The OAT Director is an Executive position within the City of Phoenix and directly reports to a Deputy City Manager. The Director is responsible for leading the agency’s oversight and accountability functions regarding sworn personnel in the Phoenix Police Department. This role requires a proactive approach to managing monitoring reports, resident complaints, and policy review to maintain integrity, transparency, and accountability within the Phoenix Police Department. In this role, the Director must have significant legal, investigative, human resources, and law enforcement oversight or prosecutorial experience.

    The annual maximum for this position is $207,979. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications with a starting salary of $175,000 to $202,000. Additionally, the City offers an executive benefits package including contribution of 9% of salary into 457/401(a) plans with no matching required plus an annual car allowance of $6,000 and $1,440 annual cell phone allowance. Relocation costs and exploratory home search trips may be authorized for the successful candidate.

    Requirements
    In accordance with the City of Phoenix’s City Code, the Director shall not have been formerly employed by a law enforcement agency in either a sworn or civilian capacity or have had immediate family members employed in a similar capacity. Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of highly responsible management experience, including supervisory experience, preferably experience with personnel-related matters. A Law degree is preferred. Bilingual in Spanish is an added plus.
